The University of Dayton
Library Advancement Association
The University of Dayton Library Advancement Association focuses its resources and
energies on building and promoting the University’s libraries by attracting new resources including funds, books, manuscripts and other appropriate materials to
guarantee an added measure of excellence.
We depend on the generosity of Friends like you to help us achieve our goal to keep
UD’s information resources current, comprehensive, and accessible.
These efforts benefit current students, faculty and staff, and also many alumni,
community and corporate friends who regularly make use of the Libraries’ extensive and
diverse resources for personal enrichment and research.
The Library Advancement Association supports the information resource and information
technology needs of:
Roesch Library with its twin emphases on providing high quality, user-focused
information services and adding a measure of excellence to the cultural life of the
wider community. Roesch Library provides access to extensive print and electronic
collections in the humanities, the sciences (social, life, physical, and applied),
business management, engineering and technology.
The Marian Library founded in 1943 and recognized as the world’s largest collection
of printed materials on the Virgin Mary, promotes religious art by continuing to
develop its already extensive holdings and through sponsoring nationally and
internationally recognized art exhibits.
The University’s Rare Books, Special Collections, and Archives house collections
ranging from baseball to Bombeck, from 19th-century British and American first editions
to Dayton area art, history, and more.
